From my home in Burlington, Vermont, I provide a variety of freelance editorial services such as copywriting, content editing, proofreading, research for manuscripts or articles, and transcription.  I have been editing for several years and aim to provide reliable, professional copy for writers and businesses.

Editorial Services

Copy Editing

    - The copyeditor has a broad sense of responsibilities.  This is for the writer who needs help correcting spelling, grammar, usage, and punctuation, check cross-references.  It is not the copyeditor's role to change the manuscript substantially.

Copy Writing

    - The copywriter will write marketable copy and promotional materials.  They are there to help the writer/business hone in on a specific viewpoint or product in order to persuade the audience.  Copy writing includes headlines or slogans, commercial copy or any other written material incorporated into advertising.

Proofreading

    - Proofreading is for a writer who is concerned with or does not have time to check for errors; including typographical errors and problems with page makeup.  Given an open time frame, I will compare the latest stage of the project to earlier stages and make sure changes have been made correctly.

Research

    - The researcher will find information to support the writing of a work or to verify information already supplied by the writer or editor.  The information found will be typed up in an outlined format for easy reference.

Transcription Services

    - This is for anyone who needs an audio file converted into a hardcopy reference, i.e., a transcript.  The transcriptionist will listen to any audio files and type them verbatim.  Files can be in any format (MP4, MP3, AAC, AIFF, MPEG, etc.) and any length.  I've transcribed interviews for authors, lectures for professors, congressional hearings and much more.
